Why We Are Here

Being a plastic surgeon, Dr Chan has seen the full gamut of disorders and deformities whether it be due to congenital conditions or trauma. She has experienced the effects it can have on patients, their psyche and the impact it has on families.

On the other end of this recovery spectrum, she understands firsthand the possibilities of restoring function and quality of life following a debilitating illness, cancer surgery or injury. She has a special interest in breast reconstruction and facial palsy reconstruction and recognises the mental process it has taken for some patients to take the first step to seek help. She also performs elective and trauma hand surgery, skin cancer surgery and aesthetic surgery.

Meet Your Surgeon

Dr. Queenie Chan

Dr Chan’s training in Plastic Surgery has taken her through a decade of experience in fourteen hospitals across three states, culminating in attaining the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons as a consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2018.

She has more recently undertaken an overseas fellowship in facial reanimation in France with Dr Daniel Labbe and a breast reconstruction fellowship in the renowned breast unit in Bristol under the mentorship of Mr Sherif Wilson. She has committed to work in disadvantaged communities across the Philippines and Cambodia and has worked as a project coordinator and public relations officer with Rotary International in the past in surgical missions in Caibiran and Dumaguete bringing essential basic healthcare to the disadvantaged and indigent locals.

She currently lives with her family and her alpacas in rural Victoria and her spare time is devoted to her potager garden, learning French and making plans for a future truffière on her farm.
